STUDIO BOUDOIR - BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHY THE STUDIO
Our personal and intimate studio is located in a large Victorian
house mid way between York and Hull in the East
Riding of Yorkshire. Some photographers studios are on
industrial estates or in large buildings which may seem
intimidating and lacking in atmosphere. In our opinion an
ideal portrait studio should be personal, inviting and warm.
Not cold and impersonal.
Being situated in a large Victorian house our studio has spacious rooms to work in
and it also feels more intimate and atmospheric then many modern environments.
We have a large main studio area which
contains three walls which can be used as sets for different types of photographs. A
flock wall for the classic boudoir look, a art nouveau style
flowered wall and a rich floor to ceiling blue velvet
curtain wall.

The curtain wall also has suspended above it
numerous paper backdrops which can be used for more plain
background traditional settings. We have numerous colours including
baby blues and pinks which are commonly favoured
in pin up style work.
Certain areas of the house can also at
a small extra cost be used for more adventurous photoshoots! We have
two very long corridor runs suitable for a claustrophobic noir
look. We also have a deco styled living
room which doubles as a make-up and dressing room. This room
is great for natural light style portraits (when the weather
obliges!).

When you book your shoot if you request to use
parts of the house you will be asked to
specify which settings you require so that lighting can be made
ready in advance of your shoots. For shorter lower budget
shoots we generally stick to the studio as we can work much
faster and more conveniently in there.
